The Holy Quran : Chapter 84 : Al-Inshiqaq (The Bursting Asunder)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

 إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ

84:1. When the Sky is rent asunder,

 وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ

84:2. And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);-

وَإِذَا الْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ

84:3. And when the earth is flattened out,

وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ

84:4. And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty,

وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ

84:5. And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality).

يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنْسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَاقِيهِ

84:6. O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did).

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ

84:7. Then he who is given his Record in his right hand,

فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا

84:8. Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning,

وَيَنْقَلِبُ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا

84:9. And he will turn to his people, rejoicing!

وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ وَرَاءَ ظَهْرِهِ

84:10. But he who is given his Record behind his back,-

فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُو ثُبُورًا

84:11. Soon will he cry for Perdition,

وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا

84:12. And he will enter a Blazing Fire.

إِنَّهُ كَانَ فِي أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا

84:13. Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing!

إِنَّهُ ظَنَّ أَنْ لَنْ يَحُورَ

84:14. Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)!

بَلَىٰ إِنَّ رَبَّهُ كَانَ بِهِ بَصِيرًا

84:15. Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him!

فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ

84:16. So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset;

وَاللَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ

84:17. The Night and its Homing;

وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا اتَّسَقَ

84:18. And the Moon in her fullness:

لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَنْ طَبَقٍ

84:19. You shall surely travel from stage to stage.

فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

84:20. What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?-

وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقُرْآنُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ 

84:21. And when the Quran is read to them, they fall not prostrate,

بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُكَذِّبُونَ

84:22. But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it).

وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ

84:23. But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts)

فَبَشِّرْهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ

84:24. So announce to them a Chastisement Grievous,

إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ

84:25. Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: for them is a Reward that will never fail.
