The Holy Quran : Chapter 101 : Al-Qari'ah (The Calamity)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

الْقَارِعَةُ

101:1. The (Day) of Clamor:

مَا الْقَارِعَةُ

101:2. What is the (Day) of Clamor?

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْقَارِعَةُ

101:3. And what will explain to thee what the (Day) of Clamor is?

يَوْمَ يَكُونُ النَّاسُ كَالْفَرَاشِ الْمَبْثُوثِ

101:4. (It is) a Day whereon men will be like moths scattered about,

وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنْفُوشِ

101:5. And the mountains will be like carded wool.

فَأَمَّا مَنْ ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ

101:6. Then, he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) heavy,

فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَاضِيَةٍ

101:7. Will be in a life of good pleasure and satisfaction.

وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ

101:8. But he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) light,-

فَأُمُّهُ هَاوِيَةٌ

101:9. Will have his home in a (bottomless) Pit.

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا هِيَهْ

101:10. And what will explain to thee what this is?

نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌ

101:11. (It is) a Fire Blazing fiercely!
